A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 24

Post no. 2.  and proof that hoarding all your clothes and shoes has its merits.

High tops are back and I couldn’t be happier. I bought these in Ran in Manchester about 10 years ago, after wearing them to death for a few months they’ve been no further than the gym for a good few years (and anyone who knows me, knows that means they haven’t really been out at all).

I still love them. They could probably do with a bit of a scrub up but I’ve been so excited to wear them again, I haven’t got around to it yet.

You’ll notice though, there is one key thing missing. A WEDGE.

Thanks to Isabel Marant, a wedge is what every high top trainer needs this spring. I have my eye on these beauties from Ash:

But you have to move quickly, they sell out in seconds and so far, I haven’t been fast enough. I also shouldn’t really be spending so much on shoes (there is still the small matter of 2 cupboards full that I am yet to blog about) but I feel I neeeeed these.

It’s my birthday on Easter weekend so friends, Romans, mums, dads, boyfriends, colleagues, whoever, I don’t really mind who gets them, here is the massive hint you’ve all been waiting for.

You just have to click here.

I'm a UK4 / 37. Thanks.

Anyway, with my Adidas high tops I wore jeans from H&M, top from Topshop, jacket from River Island.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 23

Well this blog might not be that well-kept but at least I am consistent – months of neglect followed by a couple of posts at once, you know, when I’m back, I’m BACK!

I didn’t even wear these shoes today either, I am such a cheat.

They come with a story though – and they come highly recommended.

You know those tweets/statements that begin with ‘That awkward moment when…’? Well, they annoy me, mostly because I’m never convinced the situation was that awkward - this might be because I’m not easily embarrassed - but the day I bought these boots I did one of those tweets, because it was awkward and it was embarrassing.

I’d tried these boots on, on New Year’s Day or near enough, I wasn’t very patient with the sales this year. But with Christmas just gone, a big birthday and a trip to Paris looming, I thought I’d be sensible, so I didn’t buy them. But then I thought about them, like, all the time, I might have even dreamt about them and I definitely told my boyfriend I loved them more than I told him I loved him that week. So I decided to go back one evening, just as the shops were closing.

As I approached Kurt Geiger on The Avenue I saw one of the ladies in the shop crouch down to lock the glass doors, didn’t I? Distraught, I ran over, knocked on, gestured wildly to be let in for just a quick min and then, after a few seconds, realised she hadn’t locked the door at all, the door next to the one I appeared to be having some sort of fit in front of was WIDE OPEN.

Awkward. So let’s face it, I had to buy the boots?

So glad I did though, they’ve seen me through an entire weekend walking the streets of Paris - even the hilly bits - work, rest, play, sun, rain and SNOW with no trips or falls and not a blister in sight.

On this day, with my Kurt Geiger boots, I wore jeans from Matalan, knitted coat from Zara, sheepskin hat from the Christmas market, fur scarf from a charity shop and Texier bag from my mum.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 22

Check me out shunning winter in my no-coat. I totally regretted this, I was freeeeeezing and was only crossing the road between my flat and my local Japanese restaurant.

Anyway, the shoes:

These are little leather boots and another TK Maxx bargain (did you know they were stocking the Alexa this week btw?)

They're a bit taller than this actually but I folded them over, when you're only 5ft 2 a little bit of leg goes a long way.

With my boots I wore jeans from Dorothy Perkins, top from Topshop, my bag is from Jones Bootmaker and my scarf is from a charity shop.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 21

I know, I know,  this task is failing miserably on all counts. It's not 21 days since I started this blog, I still have at least 50 (ahem) pairs of shoes sat waiting patiently to see the light of day and these boots are new.

Pony skin, leopard print Chelsea boots from Topshop

It's a little known fact that I could, if I wanted to, dress head to toe in leopard print. Sometimes, I kinda want to.

But today I resisted and with my boots I wore jeans from Mango, jumper dress (folded up) from ASOS, fake fur coat from a charity shop and my newly dip dyed locks (thanks Annamarie!). I was also totally sucked in by 2 for 1 coffees at Starbucks, the shame.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 20

Ok, I give in... I have been clinging on to my sandals and pumps and, well, summer. But I will concede that this weekend has been a little bit nippy.

And I deserve 2 slaps on the wrist. 1. for buying some new shoes (boots actually), I appreciate this isn't the first time this, um, week and 2. for wearing the same shoes (boots) 2 days in a row.

I bought these in TK Maxx and the brand is Infinity.

I don't know why we do it, but we all like to brag about a bargain don't we? Fifteen pounds, lovely leather, comfy as hell and heels/soles that even I can't wreck in a hurry.

I wore them yesterday with jeans from H&M, that took me about an hour to get on - biscuits are the new cigarettes, top from TK Maxx, red leopard print scarf from a charity shop and leather jacket from River Island about a hundred years ago. I know, I don't know what was going on either, I did have a fever later on - that and this outfit may be related.

Today I wore them with dress from All Saints, cardigan from TK Maxx (they've been doing well out of me eh?) and heart pendant from a charity shop.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 19

Ok, last pair of flat pointy pumps... for this week.

Another very old pair I just can't part with. These were a gift for my 20 *cough*th birthday (it's not just the shoes that are getting old).

I chased these shoes round every Kurt Geiger shop and concession in the country and ended up ordering them from Harrods. That's pretty posh when you're a student, you know? I kept the wrapping for about a month.

With my yellow pumps I wore jeans from H&M (my fold up bag is from there too), t shirt from All Saints, jacket from Primark and Miu Miu bag, as before.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 18

This looks like a bit of a paranormal blog post - excuse the blurry pics. It was early, I think me and the camera had about the same amount of focus.

Since digging out my navy Kurt Geiger pointy pumps, I've been on a bit of a roll this week.

These red pumps are from Office, a long time ago.

That's better...ish. They're red, snakeskin and frilly. What a combination.

With my snakeskin pumps, I wore jeans from Zara, t-shirt from Asos, cardi from my mum and my ghost hand.
