A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 23

Well this blog might not be that well-kept but at least I am consistent – months of neglect followed by a couple of posts at once, you know, when I’m back, I’m BACK!

I didn’t even wear these shoes today either, I am such a cheat.

They come with a story though – and they come highly recommended.

You know those tweets/statements that begin with ‘That awkward moment when…’? Well, they annoy me, mostly because I’m never convinced the situation was that awkward - this might be because I’m not easily embarrassed - but the day I bought these boots I did one of those tweets, because it was awkward and it was embarrassing.

I’d tried these boots on, on New Year’s Day or near enough, I wasn’t very patient with the sales this year. But with Christmas just gone, a big birthday and a trip to Paris looming, I thought I’d be sensible, so I didn’t buy them. But then I thought about them, like, all the time, I might have even dreamt about them and I definitely told my boyfriend I loved them more than I told him I loved him that week. So I decided to go back one evening, just as the shops were closing.

As I approached Kurt Geiger on The Avenue I saw one of the ladies in the shop crouch down to lock the glass doors, didn’t I? Distraught, I ran over, knocked on, gestured wildly to be let in for just a quick min and then, after a few seconds, realised she hadn’t locked the door at all, the door next to the one I appeared to be having some sort of fit in front of was WIDE OPEN.

Awkward. So let’s face it, I had to buy the boots?

So glad I did though, they’ve seen me through an entire weekend walking the streets of Paris - even the hilly bits - work, rest, play, sun, rain and SNOW with no trips or falls and not a blister in sight.

On this day, with my Kurt Geiger boots, I wore jeans from Matalan, knitted coat from Zara, sheepskin hat from the Christmas market, fur scarf from a charity shop and Texier bag from my mum.
