A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 14

Gosh, you'll have to excuse this post and the terrible photos but after an exhausting week and the biggest Brazilian feast ever at Nossa Casa* (followed by a Milka bar and a Daim) I actually cannot move.

Ah, they're nice aren't they but how pointy? I wondered why we got treated so well at the restaurant, I am assuming the waiter was scared I might take his eye out if I left with even a hint of a hunger pang.

I will never, ever, ever grow out of snakeskin or leopard print.

With my pointy snakeskin shoes, I wore my jeans with the top button undone, a nice baggy blouse and 2 tired eyes.

ZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz.......

* Formerly Tropeiro, Mancunians. It's amazing, go go go!

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 13

I didn't wear these all day, but this evening I went for a run. Yeah, that's right, a run. Anyone who knows me will be laughing out loud at this and probably making a joke about how you can't run in a taxi but stop it, now.

On my run I wore these:

I would love to say that I bought these with a practical head on but no, I bought these back in the day where I wanted to be the 1,254,689,684th member of the So Solid Crew and do guest vocals on Envy (I am still up for this by the way).

L(iiiiii)isa Maffia was wearing these in either Dazed and Confused or Jockey Slut, I can't remember now, and I wanted to be her so buying these seemed like a step in the right direction.

I don't have bumpy ankles by the way, they're my super cool socks tucked under my super cool leggings and you don't even want to know what else I wore on my jog.

You do....

Wow! Check out that beauty! Hipster or 90s market trader, you decide - but don't tell me. Perfect for taking essentials out running - keys, money, phone... or nothing, I just like to wear it whenever I can.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 12

Well, whatever about my shoes, this blog is teaching me that I wear a variation on the same outfit almost every day. On this day (12) with my skinny jeans and blouse type top, I wore my Carvela kitten heels:

I don't have much to say about these really, not because I don't like them though. I bought them to wear with a specific dress for a wedding...

...but they're so comfy and pretty neutral so they've seen the light of day more than a lot of the shoes tucked away  in my wardrobe.

God, I look weird/boring - it was an early start... Jeans are from H&M, fold up tote also from H&M, blouse from Zara, Jacket from Primark.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 11

Well, it would be nice to not have to wear thick black tights and winter boots mid-June but...

These hiking boots are from Jones Bootmaker. A Christmas present from my Dad who didn't just click on the link I sent him (I'm not a total princess, he insists we do this) he noted the product code and went out to buy them so I had them in time for the big day. A for Effort, Dad.

They were actually lighter/grey but I used black polish on them to dull them a little bit.

With my boots I wore 7 for All Mankind denim shorts (these are actually my favourite jeans that I'd worn literally to shreds, I couldn't bare to part with them so gave them a new lease of life), top from Matalan, necklace was a gift from my sisters though from Accessorize I think and bag, Miu Miu as before.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 10

Ok so this is not strictly day 10, as in, this blog has existed for more than 10 days, I've just neglected it this week. This is mainly because I've done a few repeats and no one likes repeats, unless they are of Friends.

Before I begin, check this out for a shoe story - I had a meeting this morning and mid-way through a very important (obvs) sentence, I looked down and realised that the lady I was in a meeting with was wearing the exact same shoes as me (a few years old, from Officeand the same colour nail polish! Weird or what? Yeah...

Anyway, day 10's shoes (not the ones I wore to the meeting, the ones I wore to my dinner date):

Another pair from Zara, though a less laborious task than my wedges. This shopping spree went more like this:
Me: Oh My God, I neeeed these
@nbeevz: Do you though? Really?
Me: Yes, I have nothing to wear to my birthday party
@nbeevz: I think you do
Me: I'll be back in 2..

SOLD to the lady with the red bank balance!

I'm not even going to pretend these are comfortable, I only wore them this evening as I knew I was going to a restaurant across the street and even on the 30 second walk home I got a stitch and the hiccups which I blame entirely on these shoes. They are filed under 'no pain, no gain'.

With my painful, beautiful shoes, I wore jeans from H&M, 2 vest tops from... I'm not sure? Shout?, necklace from Accessorize, blazer from Gap and bag from 4 of my lovely friends (@thehippriest, @tuloulah, @facefacts & @dum3dum3) which I think is River Island.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 9

And here are today's:

Cheap as chips Primark faux (god, that's so Ebay, I mean FAKE) leather and patent pumps. It doesn't take a genius to work out what they were trying to do here...

I went a bit criss cross crazy actually...

With my pumps I wore socks from... I actually don't know. Dress from Matalan, Kenneth Lane necklace from Net-a-Porter and that jacket slung over my bag is another magic, fabric, waterproof wonder, this time from Old Navy.

I am far too old to dress like this but people who know me expect it and people who don't know me are non the wiser, so, everyone's a winner.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 8

So, yesterday, I slacked off.

I was so busy playing in the sun and stuffing my face at @timinmanchester's bbq (nice burgers) that I forgot to take pics of my shoes.

Don't worry though, you didn't miss much, I was just in my favourite flip flops. My Havaiana black 'Fit' flops to be precise.

Since I forgot to photograph them yesterday I thought I'd treat you to a little story -

One (very) hot day in Nice I was on the beach and decided to have a dip in the sea. The beaches in Nice are pebble beaches. I was always taught, you should wear your flip flops (or Jelly shoes - up to you) into the sea on pebble beaches so you don't hurt your tootsies. So me and my Havaiana's went in.

Me and @fikle were just having a little swim and then from out of nowhere came a massive wave. I started to run back to the beach but the wave pulled me down and, more scarily, pulled off one of my flip flops and took it back out to sea.

I could have cried. Actually, I did a bit.

So I sat on the beach mourning the loss of my sandal for a good 20 mins, and then I looked up, and then I looked across the beach, and then I spotted something black and flip flop shaped on the pebbles about 40m down the coastline, so I ran/limped - one flip flop on, one flip flop off - towards it and there it was! It had come back to me!

I think me and these flip flops are meant to be. I took this picture just after we were reunited. It was emotional.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 7

Today I wore my fancy brown leather heels from Adolfo Dominguez.

They started out feeling pretty comfortable but by the end of the day/evening, we weren't such good friends.

Verdict: Keep, for sure, but not for whole days out.

Worn with ASOS green skinny trousers, tie dye top from All Saints (well it's a dress actually but I tucked it in) with cami from Mango underneath, bag - Miu Miu as before. Ultra stylish hair bobble round my wrist, probably from Boots.

Arty, eh?

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 6

I always wanted to be a ballerina but the day my mum sent me in to my first exam sans wraparound cardy and with my hair down, was the beginning of the end.

I can still wear ballet pumps though right?

These are just from Oasis but I would buy out French Sole if I could.

Are these the comfiest shoes on the planet? Yes they are. Is this weirdly identical to yesterday's outfit? Yes, yes it is.

Jeans, ASOS. Top, charity shop. Bag, Miu Miu.

A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 5

Oh I love these.

Nick (@nbeevz) isn't so keen, I wasted a whole day of holiday in Barcelona going into every Zara until I found them in my size. And anyone who's been there will know, in Barcelona, there are more Zaras than Starbucks' so it was one hot, busy day.

And then I spent the rest of the evening going 'oh... I love... my new shoes!'. I could well have come home single.

The leather is lovely and they're fairly neutral so go with lots of outfits and when I'm not negotiating Manchester cobbles, they're pretty damn comfy.

With my lovely shoes, I wore black jeans from All Saints, cotton buttoned cami from Primark and jacket from Uth - what happened to Uth? I heart this jacket.

And check me out, I'm on a stage!
