A Woman's Right to Shoes - Day 8

So, yesterday, I slacked off.

I was so busy playing in the sun and stuffing my face at @timinmanchester's bbq (nice burgers) that I forgot to take pics of my shoes.

Don't worry though, you didn't miss much, I was just in my favourite flip flops. My Havaiana black 'Fit' flops to be precise.

Since I forgot to photograph them yesterday I thought I'd treat you to a little story -

One (very) hot day in Nice I was on the beach and decided to have a dip in the sea. The beaches in Nice are pebble beaches. I was always taught, you should wear your flip flops (or Jelly shoes - up to you) into the sea on pebble beaches so you don't hurt your tootsies. So me and my Havaiana's went in.

Me and @fikle were just having a little swim and then from out of nowhere came a massive wave. I started to run back to the beach but the wave pulled me down and, more scarily, pulled off one of my flip flops and took it back out to sea.

I could have cried. Actually, I did a bit.

So I sat on the beach mourning the loss of my sandal for a good 20 mins, and then I looked up, and then I looked across the beach, and then I spotted something black and flip flop shaped on the pebbles about 40m down the coastline, so I ran/limped - one flip flop on, one flip flop off - towards it and there it was! It had come back to me!

I think me and these flip flops are meant to be. I took this picture just after we were reunited. It was emotional.
